Amazónicas: Nancy Santi

Nancy Santi, from the Kichwa People of Kawsak Sacha, Ecuador, is one of the many Amazonian women taking part in the struggle against fossil fuel industries on indigenous territories.

At the time her story was filmed, Nancy was leading the women’s association of Kawsak Sacha. Recently, she became the President of the entire people of Kawsak Sacha. A few months after, the Government of Ecuador included her territory and part of the Yasuni National Park in a new oil licensing round.
